Hello again, been a bit quite recently too much to do and not enough time. Ventured up to Derbyshire on the 22nd july a solo outing to Dusty Miller pub ,Barlborough attending the 9/12 Royal Lancers Last Smoker a veterans re-union.
The drive to Barlborough was hot and long I decide to avoid motorways so I could experience the countryside, this was great ,I had to join the M1 near Nottingham and yes you guessed it gridlock we all chugged along at 5mph for 30mins for what seemed for no reason ,no crashes etc.
On arriving I set up Camp in the field to the rear of the pub(Dusty Millars) to everyone’s enjoyment ,and then the first tin of cider was opened followed by many more with a mixing of Stella, a great weekend.
This trip was a great test for kitty ,been running her on a 50/50 WVO (waste vegetable oil) fuel mix and this was the first real long journey to test the mix out, all was well, smells a bit of onion bhajis ,done a lot of reading up on the subject running 50/50 at the moment in the winter will pull this back to 70/30 or just run straight diesel.
I filtered the oil through a coarse 200 micron bucket filter to remove the large particles, then I pour the oil through 25,10, and 1 micron filter socks these sit in the lid of a 100lt water butt
Filter socks pack of three Ebay seller filterbagman2
I cut a hole in the lid of a standard 100lt water butt
and insert the socks into the lid inside each other so the oil pass through 25 micron then 10 micron and finally 1 micron, I can then use the tap to drain of the filtered oil when required.
Jobs to do this month, rear wheel bearing including all seals etc.
Also I have purchased some Masai Rock sliders, should be fun fitting these!!!!
