kitty landrover

mediaHi I brought my land rover 110 3 years ago after making the decision that i wanted a vehicle to travel and see the world in. I wanted a rolling restoration project a vehicle I could change to my own requirements,I already owned a Freelander 2. So a defender(110) was sourced and aptly named “kitty land rover” by my daughter Lily.

She is a 1988 land rover 110 that originally had a 2.5 TD (19j) engine that had done 130’000 ┬ámiles the plan was to fit a discovery 200TDI engine, but this modification would have to wait the 19J would have to last 2 years .

The first job was to sort out the body work ,the paint was tied so a rub down and classic white tractor paint was applied with a roller yes a roller and it came out OK,the rear windows were blacked out and a roof tent purchased , all set for a trial camping session in Dorset, loved it and the love affair with Defenders started

In 2015 a week trip was planned for Cornwall, the weather wasn’t great 2 days of sunshine out of 7 ain’t bad for the UK ,this is when i decided to change the engine and change the interior so Kitty would be more reliable and economical for future trips may be EuropeDSC_0010_234

So over the winter of 2015/16 work started to prepare for a European road trip France and Italy.
