Welsh Valleys

May bank holiday weekend decided to pop over to Wales for a two Night camping trip (Friday to Sunday),set off at six o’clock Friday evening to hopefully miss the mass M4/M5 parking lot just outside of Bristol well this paid off only to be scuppered at the approach to the Seven bridge paying kiosks 30 min wait.
It was going well sat nav set, Brecon Beacons here we come for one night of wild camping in kitty, well things started to go a miss yet more alternator problems this is getting to become a bore, belt started slipping and a strong smell of burning rubber and the glowing red battery light illuminated on the dash, oh bugger.
In the middle of nowhere down a dark country lane with an audience of cows, stripped the old belt off that had jumped of the pulley, new belt fitted all seemed well the cows mooed pleased i was moooooving on and they could resume their night time slumber.
Two miles down the road same again and the belt snapped,by this time i was not impressed so drove 3 miles onto the Brecon Beacons pulled over onto the side of the road, the night sky was amazing, and torch lights moved around the many trials in the distances, a line of lights slithering around the country side ,another Army exercise.Time for sleep repairs in the morning.

Early Saturday morning i sorted the alternator belt problem but had to use the old belt that wasn’t in good shape,no more spares left do we carry on and hope the land rover dealer in Swansea have one and hope that the belt fitted at the moment holds out.
We decided to head home the Gower Peninsula would have to wait.Funny thing is on the way home kitty ran a treat and the belt held up,going to have to look into this alternator and belt problem but hey ho the joys of owning a Land Rover
